Identity in a Digital World

This is a very good TED Talk by Alec Couros. He discusses important questions we need to think about in terms of our students in this digital age. He raises the issue of the changes that have taken place. In the past our online persona was private by default and public with effort. Now the paradigm has changed, public by default and private with effort.

He finishes with a quote from Clay Shirky (2011). " We systematically overestimate the value of access to information and underestimate the value of access to each other." How can we get our students to do that?

Alec Couros will be speaking at the 21st Century Learning Conference in Hong Kong,
January 19 - 20,  2018.
